This Privacy Policy explains how Pinch (“Pinch,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information when you use the Pinch mobile application and this website (together, the “Service”). By using Pinch, you agree to the practices described here.
1. Information we collect
We deliberately collect as little as possible. Depending on how you use Pinch, this may include:
Information you give us
- Your dragon & preferences. The name you give your dragon, your savings goal, the spending categories you care about, and your reminder time.
- Habit check-ins. Your daily answers, XP, levels, and streaks that power your progress.
- Messages to us. If you email team@downloadpinch.com, we receive whatever you send.
Information collected automatically
- Basic device & usage data. Things like app version, device type, and crash diagnostics that help us fix bugs and keep Pinch running smoothly.
- Subscription status. If you purchase a subscription, your app store (Apple or Google) processes the payment and tells us whether your subscription is active. We never see your full card details.
2. How we use your information
We use the information above to:
- Run the core experience — track your habits, XP, streaks, and grow your dragon.
- Send the daily reminder you asked for (only if you enable notifications).
- Personalize the habit questions you see based on the categories you choose.
- Provide support and respond to your messages.
- Fix bugs, improve features, and keep the Service secure.
- Manage subscriptions and prevent fraud.
We do not use your habit data to advertise to you, and we do not sell your personal information.
3. Where your information lives
Your habit check-ins, progress, and dragon are stored primarily on your device. If you enable any optional cloud backup or sync feature, a copy may be stored securely with our infrastructure providers so your dragon follows you to a new phone. We use industry-standard safeguards to protect data in transit and at rest, but no method of storage is ever 100% secure.
4. When we share information
We share information only in limited cases:
- Service providers. Trusted vendors who help us run Pinch (e.g., hosting, crash reporting, and the app stores) and only process data on our behalf.
- Legal reasons. If required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of Pinch and our users.
- Business transfers. If Pinch is involved in a merger or acquisition, information may transfer as part of that deal — your rights under this policy will carry over.
We never sell your personal information to third parties.
5. Your choices & rights
- Notifications. Turn reminders on or off anytime in Settings or your device’s system settings.
- Delete your data. You can reset your progress or delete the app to remove locally stored data. To request deletion of any cloud-stored data, email us.
- Access & corrections. Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal information. We’re happy to help — just reach out.
6. Children’s privacy
Pinch is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We don’t knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we’ll delete it.
7. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we’ll update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, let you know in the app. Continuing to use Pinch after changes means you accept the updated policy.
