Welcome to Pinch! These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and Pinch (“Pinch,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) governing your use of the Pinch app and this website (the “Service”). Please read them carefully.
1. Acceptance of these Terms
By downloading, accessing, or using Pinch, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the Service.
2. What Pinch is
Pinch is a gamified habit-building app. You answer simple daily check-ins about your spending and saving habits, earn XP, keep streaks, and grow a virtual dragon. Pinch is designed to make good money habits fun and easy to stick to.
3. Pinch is not financial advice
This one matters. Pinch is an educational and motivational tool, not a financial advisor, bank, or money manager. The check-ins and tips in Pinch are for general encouragement only and are based on your own self-reported answers. Pinch does not connect to your bank accounts and does not move, hold, or manage real money. Always do your own research or consult a qualified professional before making financial decisions.
4. Your account & data
You’re responsible for the device you use and for keeping your information accurate. Your habit data is primarily stored on your device — see our Privacy Policy for details. You agree not to use the Service in any way that could harm, disable, or impair it.
5. Subscriptions & purchases
- Free & premium. Pinch offers free features and optional premium features available through a subscription.
- Billing. Purchases are processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play, subject to their terms. Payment is charged to your app store account at confirmation.
- Auto-renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel anytime in your app store account settings.
- Refunds. Refund requests are handled by the app store you purchased through, according to their policies.
6. Acceptable use
When using Pinch, you agree not to:
- Break any applicable law or regulation.
- Reverse-engineer, copy, or resell the Service.
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems or other users’ data.
- Use the Service to harass, abuse, or harm anyone.
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service’s normal operation.
7. Our content & characters
Pinch, the Pinch name and logo, Ember and the other dragon characters, artwork, animations, and all related content are owned by us and protected by intellectual property laws. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service for your own personal, non-commercial use. Please don’t use our characters or artwork elsewhere without permission.
8. Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We don’t guarantee that Pinch will always be available, error-free, or that using it will lead to any particular financial outcome. You use Pinch at your own discretion and risk.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Pinch and its team will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of money, savings, data, or goodwill arising from your use of (or inability to use) the Service. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, if any.
10. Termination
You can stop using Pinch at any time by deleting the app. We may suspend or end your access to the Service if you violate these Terms or use the Service in a harmful way. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (like ownership, disclaimers, and liability) will continue to apply.
11. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we’ll update the “Last updated” date and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Continuing to use Pinch after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
